Psoriasis. Everyone, without exception, heard about this disease, and some people are familiar with him firsthand. Psoriasis is one of the most severe forms of dermatological diseases, which has a fairly widespread and large number of forms resistant to therapy. About 6 % of the total population of the planet. It would seem not so much. However, behind the dry statistics, there are thousands and thousands of real people who are forced to live with this problem from year to year.
Despite the fact that psoriasis does not pose absolutely no threat to life and the general state of health, sick people are very burdened by this disease, because the skin looks very unaesthetic. Often, sick people, even in hot weather, are forced to wear clothes with long sleeves, are embarrassed to go to the beaches. Despite a fairly high level of development of modern medicine, the nature of the occurrence of such a disease as psoriasis has not yet been established. There are, of course, factors that serve as prerequisites for the development of the disease, but in general, the causes of psoriasis are still not clear to the doctors.
One of the main theories of psoriasis is a hypothesis about the so -called genetic factor. As a rule, psoriasis in children under 10 years of age is precisely a hereditary form of the disease - in the genus of the baby you can almost always find a relative suffering from a similar disease. But if psoriasis manifests itself at a more mature age, doctors suggest that the disease has a different nature of origin - bacterial or viral.
Clinical manifestations of psoriasis

Psoriasis is easily diagnosed. An experienced dermatologist based on a visual examination easily diagnoses the disease. Psoriasis symptoms is as follows: a sick person has monomorphic rashes - papules (nodules), various gender to their size, which merge with each other and form the so -called plaques. These plaques do not have a clear localization and can be in any place of the skin.
At the very beginning of the disease, rashes are limited. The rashes are single and are usually located in the area of the elbow and knee joints, in the scalp, in the sacrum, etc. The plaques have a very clear contour, in color they vary from pale - pink to bright - red. Inside the plaques, the skin is covered with silver - white scales. It is they who scrape them to diagnose psoriasis to obtain a triad:
- A special spot.
- Terminal film.
- Blood dew.
Only in the presence of all these three terms do doctors diagnose psoriasis in a sick person. Dermatologists distinguish between three different stages of psoriasis:
- The progressive stage of psoriasis. In this stage, the first symptoms of the disease are enhanced, the disease progresses and the state painfully worsens.
- The stationary stage of psoriasis. In this stage, the disease is at its peak in development.
- Stage of regression. In this stage of psoriasis, the disease clinical manifestations of the disease are declining, the condition of the sick person improves significantly.
Any person who has psoriasis is necessarily passing all three stages of the disease. However, if the disease is diagnosed in time and treatment is prescribed in a timely manner, then the duration of the second phase (stationary) is possible to reduce to zero.
In addition to the stages of psoriasis, there is another type of qualification of this disease. By localization and type of rashes, psoriasis is divided into:
- Ordinary plaque psoriasis.
- Exudation psoriasis. This type of psoriasis differs from the usual appearance in that in addition to ordinary plaque rashes in the clinical picture of the course of the disease, a pronounced inflammatory reaction of the skin occurs. Flashing scales appear on the skin, when exposing which a bright - pink wet surface opens.
- Another psoriasis. In the clinical picture of the course of this form of the disease, in addition to plaques, joints are affected on the skin. In simple terms, this psoriasis is a combination of psoriasis and arthritis. The severity of this disease can be very different - from the weak arthralgia of individual joints, and to real generalized lesions, leading to disability of patients.
- Pustulenia psoriasis. With this type of psoriasis, palms and soles are affected. This form of psoriasis is considered one of the most severe. If the lesion of this type of psoriasis is extensive, a sick person has a significant increase in body temperature, a significant deterioration in the general state of health of a sick person, a change in the blood formula - an increase in ESR. Against the background of bright erythema, small pustules occur, which cause a burning sensation and painful sensations when touching. Such foci of damage to the skin occupy a very extensive area and bring a lot of uncomfortable sensations to a sick person. When these affected areas of the skin merge into extensive foci, and the epidermis is detached, as a result of which the severe form of erythroderma develops.
- The most common is limited pustular psoriasis. In this form, the disease is not very extensive, localized mainly in the elbow bends, on the soles and palms. However, despite the fact that the course of this form of the disease is easier, it is characterized by frequent and persistent relapses. In addition, it is precisely for this form of psoriasis that very often a provocative factor is contact with various chemicals found in human everyday life.
- Psoriatic erythroderma. This form of psoriasis also has a severe form of the course and develops gradually, as a result of the progression of psoriasis. The skin is swollen, red, with pronounced signs of a severe inflammatory process. If the disease is not treated, a sick person may have symptoms such as: fever, increasing lymph nodes, impaired functioning of the cardiovascular system, hair loss, change in normal blood indicators.
In children, most often doctors diagnose psoriasis of folds. Also, psoriasis of folds is often observed in people with diabetes. The foci of psoriatic lesions are under the mammary glands, in the groin, in the cervical folds and axillary hollows, under the knees and in the elbow bends. The boundaries of rashes are sharply outlined, the lesions themselves have a rich pink color, peel off slightly. Signs of psoriasis are very specific-it is difficult to confuse them with something.
Diet for psoriasis
Separately, it is necessary to talk about such a significant factor as the diet of a person patient with psoriasis. Although few people know about this, in any form of psoriasis, an allergic factor is necessarily present. That is why all patients with psoriasis people for the successful treatment of psoriasis are simply required to observe a special diet that eliminates the use of products containing allergens and can lead to exacerbation of the course of the disease. Diet for psoriasis is one of the components of the successful treatment of psoriasis.

The diet should be carefully thought out and balanced. The diet should be complete, quite energetically valuable, contain the required amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. After all, dietary nutrition should not be inferior - the body should receive all the nutrients, vitamins and trace elements necessary for normal functioning.
However, as mentioned above, from the diet, it is necessary to completely exclude all substances that in one way or another can cause allergic reactions of the body. Below is a list of products that most often cause allergies:
- Citrus fruits. All citrus fruits, without exception, be it oranges, lemons or grapefruits, are the strongest allergens. People suffering from psoriasis should exclude citrus fruits in any form, even in the form of restored juices.
- Chicken eggs also often cause allergic reactions in people. If it is difficult for a sick person to do without eggs, they can be successfully replaced with quail. Quail eggs do not cause allergic reactions.
- Whole cow's milk. The use of whole cow's milk can lead to a deterioration in the state of health of a patient with human psoriasis. However, dairy products cannot be completely excluded from the diet, since they contain a large number of useful trace elements. Just replace whole milk with sour -milk products.
- Try not to eat vegetables and fruits containing red pigment - tomatoes, strawberries, cherries, red pepper. Patients with psoriasis for people these fruits and vegetables can be consumed only after they have passed thermal treatment.
- It is also necessary to exclude all sharp, fatty, fried and smoked dishes from the diet.
- We must also try to avoid eating mushrooms in any form - mushroom soups, sauces, fried and pickled mushrooms.
- When cooking, sick people should refuse to use spicy seasonings and a large amount of table salt.
- It is also not recommended to eat various sauces - mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard. It is best to replace them with sour cream, which will bring to health much greater benefit.
It is preferable to eat all the food in baked, boiled or stewed form . . Nutrition should be fractional - food must be taken in small portions, but more often than usual - 5 - 7 times a day. Overflow not only causes an unpleasant sensation of severity in the stomach, but can also lead to a deterioration in the condition of a patient with psoriasis.
During periods of significant exacerbation of the disease, it is very useful to conduct the so -called fasting days. However, in no case should the concept of "unloading day" with the concept of "cleansing the body" can be confused. On unloading days, only one type of product must be consumed for food. It can be either kefir, or apples, or boiled fish. Do not arrange more than one fasting day a week.
Treatment of psoriasis with folk remedies
Treatment of psoriasis should take place under the strict control of a dermatologist. Any medicine for psoriasis should be used only as prescribed by a doctor and strictly according to a treatment regimen scheme. In addition to official medicine, there are a huge number of traditional medicine prescriptions that allow you to quickly and effectively facilitate the course of the disease and improve the well -being of a sick person. Below are the most effective of the methods, but no matter what the recipe is chosen, be sure to consult your doctor before its use.
Often the use of folk remedies of medicine allows you to remove all manifestations of psoriasis, and achieve persistent remission for many years. However, do not be upset if the first recipe you selected does not help. Even in official medicine, an individual treatment regimen is selected for each sick person. What is effective for one person may not have any therapeutic effect for another patient.
Approximately the same thing happens in the case of treatment with traditional medicine recipes. If a patient with psoriasis is possible at home, but you will have to try several ways. If one method has not helped the sick person, he must try another. As a rule, the patient necessarily finds the recipe that will help him. Also, do not count on achieving an instant result - after the first procedure, you will not see. Do not throw the treatment that has begun after 1 - 2 applications. Go completely at least one course. However, as a rule, visible improvement occurs after 10 - 15 days.

Complex measures will help you increase the effectiveness of treatment. So, for example, the use of outdoors is very effectively combined with the use of external means. Also, during the course of treatment with folk methods, it is imperative to observe a therapeutic diet, take stimulating drugs, and lead a healthy lifestyle. It is the integrated approach that will help the sick person achieve the best treatment results.
A good remedy for psoriasis is flax seeds. The infusion of flax seeds will help you largely remove the clinical manifestations of psoriasis after 5 to 7 days. To prepare the infusion, you need to fall asleep into an enameled dish with one tablespoon of flax seed, pour it with one glass of boiling water, wrap it with a towel and let it brew for one day. After that, the infusion must be brought to a boil and immediately removed from the fire, but in no case letting the infusion boil. After the infusion has cooled, it must be filtered with gauze tissue. Take a decoction in the morning, on an empty stomach, after drinking activated charcoal, at the rate of one tablet per 10 kilograms of weight. During the treatment, a patient should completely exclude from his diet the use of coffee and products that contain caffeine. The course of treatment of psoriasis with the help of an infusion of flaxseed should last at least 20 days. This method is very good in cases where you need to get rid of plaques as quickly as possible. However, in no case should you stop the course of treatment ahead of time, immediately after the elimination of external manifestations of the disease.
